about
Ashwani Kumar
I've been building software for about ten years. Most of my work sits on the backend: service design, APIs, queues, databases and the infrastructure under them. I also build the frontend when the product needs it, so I usually own a feature from the schema to the screen.
Beyond CRUD is where I write down what I've learned from the parts that break: retries, dead letters, migrations, and lately, APIs that AI agents call a thousand times a minute.
Everything here is free. If it saves you an incident, pass it on to another developer.
Work
2025 – now
Platform Engineer · browserless
TypeScript and Node.js services that manage long-lived browser sessions over WebSockets and the Chrome DevTools Protocol, and the containerized browser infrastructure behind them (Docker, Terraform, AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean).
2021 – 2026
Lead Software Engineer · Radius Agent
Led the full-stack team that built Listings, Contracts, Leaderboard and the CRM. Built Mel, an AI assistant that reads contract documents and surfaces leads; daily active users grew 150% after launch.
2023 – 2026
Co-founder · Cosmosone
An iOS app for anonymous messages between friends. Built the backend and APIs and shipped it to the App Store.
2019 – 2021
Senior Software Engineer · RentoMojo
Took automated KYC checks from 27% to 88%. Moved data services and ETL pipelines from AWS to Azure at about 20% lower cost. A chatbot and IVR cut inbound calls and emails by more than 30%.
